I never quite understood the American/European perspective on retirement.
If you are at a point where you can no longer do what you like doing, what the heck is the point of living ? I get 2–3 years of “retirement” from life to accept death, but spending 10 or 20 years fighting with disease and boredom seems like a fate much worse than death.
On the other hand, if you are waiting to “do what you like” until you can retire, you should really ask yourself what the fuck are you doing. Why waste the healthy years of your life doing things you hate ? Why not do what you love right now ?
