Which is my exact point, regulations such as these don’t affect the people that offshore millions (because they have good lawyers and accountants) or billion (because they have congressmen).

They only hurt normal people, such as the author, which can’t afford the legal apparatus to navigate them.

That’s why it’s so ironic. Exactly the kind of people who are hurt by these regulations, are the one screaming the loudest to extend and complicate them.
